I was just googling around about this when I came upon your post. I'm simply dropping by to say that I truly enjoyed reading this post, it is really well written. Are you considering writing more on this? It looks like there is more material here for later posts.

I've been surprisingly optimistic in the last several months too, and it hasn't been because there has been a lack of drama in my life - that's for sure! I do attribute my sense of peace and optimism to my faith and trust in God. He's pulled our family through some serious stuff in the last few years, and I know that despite the uncertainty that many in our nation feel right now, that somehow...it'll all be just fine. Different, but fine.

Thanks for this engaging post.

Awesome post. Thanks for bringing this up. My mind often drifts off to thoughts of those who are without their loved ones during the holidays. Many have been known to commit suicide due to the overwhelming feeling of sadness and lonliness during this time of the year. This is the second holiday season without my best friend, hero and father. It's rough.

Thanks for this reminder. The holidays always make me miss my family & friends back in California - that...and when we need a last-minute sitter (no one to call!). I do find that turning to prayer and re-connecting w/ God helps; I'm rarely lonely with Him. Wonder if he's up for babysitting though? :)

I am not suggesting that you should have sex just because your mate wants to have sex. Sex should hold some kind of mutual desire.

I often hear women talk about not wanting sex and have not had sex with their husbands for months on end. Its beyond just being "pissed off" then. At that point, the marraige and relationship may be in jeopardy.

I understand where you're coming from but I disagree with the idea that just because you're married, you should have sex when the other person wants it.

My libido is stimulated and turned off by what happens during the day, not just during the night. If it's fun, flirtacious, and all-around a good day, then I might seek sex or allow it if it's sought, but... If I've been irritated, unamused, pissed off and the like, chances are it's not gonna happen.

We probably have things to discuss and sex is just going to provide a conduit around them and that's not healthy either. So, instead of just giving it up, I say talk about the reasons why you're not into it instead of just pretending you have a headache, and maybe, just maybe you might still be up for a round or two that night.
